Find Yourself Closer to Nature
An off-grid experience designed to help you slow down and switch off
Mindful Meditation
Naomi has been a mindfulness meditation practitioner for almost ten years. She creates content for online and print media, and delivers in-person sessions.
She is the 'voice' of a mindfulness meditation app creating thousands of pieces of relaxing and inspiring content focussing on emotional and spiritual wellbeing which have been listened to over a million times, and resulted in a book of her daily meditations being published. She also has a monthly mindful radio show.
Naomi is also a qualified Horticulturalist and Landscape Architect and is passionate about the healing power of nature on the mind.
Flaxmill Bothy is located just outside Castlerock and is set on the edge of a forest on the North Coast of Northern Ireland, only a mile from the Atlantic Ocean. A babbling stream runs through the site, honey bees collect nectar from the flowers, birds sing in the trees, and leaves rustle in the wind. If you want to be closer to nature, this is the place to do it.
We have kept bees at the mill for many years. We are very intentional about never using chemical sprays in order to keep our bees, honey, plants, birds and local wildlife happy and healthy. Our comb and runny honey can be found in local shops during the summer.

Unique Events
Flaxmill Bothy is a charmingly rustic and entirely unique location. The site of a former flax mill, abandoned for hundreds of years, it now comes to life with cottagecore parties and homegrown feasts. It is a magical place that leaves you feeling like you’ve stepped back in time, or stepped sideways through the veil into another world.
If you would like to hold an event at the mill, or use it as a location shoot, please get in touch.

Autumn Equinox Rave
Saturday 26th September | 8pm
Autumn Equinox is all about balance, when the hours of daylight and darkness are perfectly equal. Wear a sparky outfit and come join us under the trees as we dance our farewell to summer and embrace the beginning of the darker months. Music by DJ Jamie Palta.
Dress code: I came across an old Irish word recently from Manchan Magan: “More mysterious forms of night-time lights are tinte chrios, which are flashes of fire sparked on the stones of a road by a horse’s hoofs” and I can’t get it out of my head. So that’s our theme, interpret as you will: sparks of light, glitter, darkness, horses/westerns, mysterious night riders.
I think this word celebrates the last of the light that can be seen as we enter the dark half of the year. The flashes of wonder that can be found even in the darkest times of our lives. So come and dance with us, maybe our feet will create some tinte chrios.
Beekeeping Experience
Spend 3 hours with Ken, one of the most respected beekeepers in the local area. His knowledge of bees, acquired from decades of first-hand experience is a calming and fascinating experience.
Mindfulness Session with Naomi
Schedule an hour’s session with Naomi at the mill.
Sit in nature while reflecting on whatever is going on with you right now. We observe the stream, trees, birds, fire, or move through the forest together. Breathing exercises, mindful questions, and gentle guidance.
The mill is a very special place, and has a way of reaching into the depths your being and allowing things that need attention to float up to the surface.
Naomi has run thousands of sessions on every topic imaginable, so if there’s something specific you’d like to focus on, she can create a custom experience for you.
Available for 1:1 or group sessions, either at the mill or a location of your choice, or even online. Indoor and outdoor space available at the mill.
Once you book a session, I will be in touch to arrange a date and time.
